A bicycle tire should suit both the wheel and the way the bicycle will be used. For an importer or distributor, a clear product brief also makes it easier to compare quotations. Start with the dimensions, describe the riding conditions and then discuss the construction and evidence needed for your market.

Use the complete bicycle tire size

Record the full sidewall marking, including its ETRTO size where available. In a marking such as 37-622, the first number is nominal tire width and the second is the bead-seat diameter, both in millimeters. Matching the diameter is necessary, but it does not settle every compatibility question.

The selected tire width must also be suitable for the rim and the bicycle’s available clearance. Confirm the combination against the relevant manufacturer guidance. For a purchasing brief, include the rim specification and the bicycle application alongside the tire size.

Describe the roads your customers ride

“City bicycle tire” and “mountain bicycle tire” describe broad categories. A better inquiry explains whether the main use is commuting on paved streets, leisure touring or routes with loose surfaces. Describe the expected use before asking a supplier to propose patterns.

For a distribution range, consider separating products by use as well as size. A simple assortment sheet with an application column gives sales staff a clearer way to present similar-looking tires to retailers.

Compare tread in the context of the complete tire

Tread interacts with the riding surface, especially off road, where the pattern contributes to contact with the ground. Check any direction-of-rotation instructions on the specific tire when evaluating a sample.

Avoid treating an aggressive-looking pattern as evidence of better performance in every condition. Rolling resistance also depends on pressure, dimensions and construction. Ask for the relevant product information and testing rather than judging grip, comfort or efficiency from a catalog picture alone.

Ask what is behind the visible rubber

A bicycle tire includes a casing, a bead and a rubber tread. When discussing a product, request the bead format and construction details that matter to your application. Also confirm the required tube-type or tubeless system compatibility for the exact tire and rim combination.

If puncture protection, a particular compound or another feature is required, make it a separate specification line. Agree what evidence supports that claim. Do not assume that a feature available on one model is included throughout a manufacturer’s range.

Evaluate samples with a written checklist

Before requesting samples, list the points your team will review: markings, dimensions, intended fitment, appearance, packaging and any agreed performance documentation. Identify which tire belongs to which quotation, and keep the supplier’s reference with it.

This process is especially useful when ordering several sizes. Feedback such as “the second sample is preferred” can become ambiguous; a recorded product reference and specification make approval easier to follow.

Build a clearer bicycle tire sourcing brief

Send ENBANG the bicycle tire sizes, intended use, rim information, quantity by size and destination market. Add any requirements for packaging, labels and supporting documentation. ENBANG also supplies bicycle inner tubes, allowing buyers to discuss both product families in the same inquiry.

Contact sales@durabletire.com with your proposed range. Exact availability, specifications and commercial terms are confirmed for the item being discussed.
